Blogmas Day 16 2015: Giving This Christmas

Welcome Back To A Day In The Life Of The Anonymous Me,

Have you ever heard the saying, ‘Give a little love to get a little love’? I have heard this many a time and that is what this post is all about – giving.

At Christmas it is very easy to become self absorbed in what you are recieving for Christmas and what you want – the latest iPhone, a new laptop… And so the list goes on. Yet there are some people in this world who are hoping for the smallest thing for Chrsitmas which most of us take for granted every day – food, shelter, warmth…

So this Chrsitmas I challenge you to help at least one person who is looking for food, shelter or warmth this Christmas and here are some ways about how you can go about it.

  • Donate unwanted food to your local foodbank
  • Place any spare coppers in collection boxes. You can find these boxes by tills/checkouts and you can also find them in Churches/Community Centres.
  • Organise a raffle and donate all the money to a homeless charity or organisation.
  • Organise a Christmas Hamper event and donate your hampers to families in need this Christmas.

So there you have it, these are four ways you could help someone in need this Christmas. I would love to hear suggestions of how to help in the comments.

Until next time, goodbye

  1. I’m so glad that you wrote this lost. I feel too that Christmas makes people very self absorbed and you have really opened my eyes up to different ways I can help out in my community this Christmas. I am definitely going to be donating some food to my local foodbank now.
