One Year Old!

Welcome Back To A Day In The Life Of The Anonymous Me,

Today my blog is one year old *sings Happy Birthday* !

It’s odd to think that a year ago I was sat writing my first blog post. I hadn’t met any of you. I hadn’t discovered most of the blogs I love now. I didn’t know how amazing this community was.

A year ago I was in a bad place. I had just lost a large number of people I cared about and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU made that time more bearable. You have all been so kind with your support; whether it be following/liking/commenting on my blog or sending me reassurance/kind messages when I was in a negative place.

Blogging has introduced me to some amazing people who I now consider some of my best friends. I love you all a lot and you have no idea how much you mean to me. So thank you Maddie, Millie, Lilly, Bella and Sophia. Although, these are my closest blogging friends I consider each and every one of you who have read my blog a friend. I am hugely grateful for you.

I am really excited for another year of blogging. I don’t know what it will bring in its entirety, but I know things can only get better. Damn it – I’ve just got that song in my head! I am going to be doing a lot more collaborations, so let me know in the comments if there is anyone you want me to collaborate with. I am also going to be continuing the series I have on my blog. I know that I have been a little slack with them recently, but exams are over and I am so excited to start working on them again. I will also be doing Blogmas again this year, but with a twist, so keep any eye out for some news about that in the near future. I am also overwhelmed with how much you have all been enjoying my book posts, so expect to see a lot more of those in the future.

Blogging has taught me a lot, so here are four things I have learnt from blogging:
(1) Blogging is really rewarding. Whether it be people liking or commenting on your posts. Or making friends. Or having a more positive outlook on life.
(2) Stats aren’t everything. It is very easy to get wrapped up in the numbers and be consumed by that. Although to an extent every cares about that stats, I have grown to not focus on them. If you have a good stats day, then celebrate, but a bad stats day is nothing to get down about. Every blog starts out with zero followers, so don’t get down about it. I follow a blog that had three followers for the first few months and now has over a thousand!
(3) Originality is everything. Be inventive with your posts. Come up with new and exciting ideas. Use your imagination. Don’t copy others blogs because it’s not an accurate representation of you; it will make them upset; you’re wasting your time; and at the end of the day you won’t achieve anything.
(4) If you are thinking of starting a blog, DO IT!!!! Seriously, you have nothing to lose. It is so fun, rewarding and the community is amazing.

So thank you all for sticking with me and for joining me in my little corner of the internet. When I started blogging I never thought anyone would want to read my blog, but it makes me so happy that nearly one hundred of you want to.

I have had a great first year of blogging. Here’s the next year *raises champagne glass*!

Happy Blogging! xx
