Collabmas Day 17 2016: Films To Watch This Christmas

Welcome Back To A Day In The Life Of The Anonymous Me,

Today I am collaborating with Phia, who has an  A M A Z I N G  blog that you should all check out. We are going to be sharing with you some films we think you should watch this Christmas curled up under a blanket, by a warm fire and with your family. Enjoy!

First up we have Nativity. It is primarily based at a school where a new teaching assistant arrives, and with the pupils help, he tries to make the class teacher in the mood for Christmas. There are 3 films in the Nativity series, but I only like the first one. The teacher, Mr Maddens, is put in charge of the school play and tries to enlist his friend Jennifer who works at Hollywood to publicize their Nativity. It is so funny and a perfect film for all the family.

Then we have Paddington, which is another feel-good film (dammit, now I have Dr Feelgood’s music stuck in my head). The story follows the Brown family who meet a bear at Paddington Train Station. They get talking to him and he comes home with them and they call him Paddington. The series follows all the adventures that Paddington gets up to with his friend Mr Gruber who owns a shop and their next door neighbour Mr Curry who doesn’t get on very well with Paddington. The film is hilarious and small children will love them. If you are thinking of giving this as a present, the book is a perfect partner gift. You can find my post here where I talked about the book.

Thirdly we have ANY of the Harry Potter films. They all have festive scenes in them and they are films all the family love. If you aren’t aware of the story (where have you been??) it follows a boy called Harry, who lives with his Aunt and Uncle. On his 11th birthday he discovers he is a wizard. He goes to a wizarding school called Hogwarts and you will have to watch the movie to find out what happens next – but read the books first, please.

Finally we have Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which came out last year and follows Rey as she discovers the force and goes on an adventure with Han Solo, Finn and Chewbacca. I would also recommend The Rogue One, which is the Stars Wars story, which recently came out. I saw it on opening day and I LOVED IT! It isn’t my favourite Star Wars film, but it is still amazing. Let me know in the comments if you have seen The Rogue One and what you thought of it.

So there you have it, those where the films I think you should watch this Christmas. Let me know in the comments what your go to film is this time of year.

Happy Blogging! xx
