East Anglia is ‘that’ place for me. Whenever I go there it feels like home. It’s my happy place. I went on holiday to East Anglia in the Summer. When I was thinking about our trip the other week I realised that I never showed you the photos I took, so here is my week in East Anglia.
I love exploring new places when I go to East Anglia and this year I discovered Aldeburgh. The houses are stunning and I would highly recommend a trip to the beach. We spent our time eating chips, creating stone stacks, swimming and taking part in the art instillation on the beach.
Speaking of pretty houses, taking a trip on the ferry from Southwold to Walberswick is highly recommended. There are so many idyllic cottages, a lovely tea room, independent shops to browse in and a lovely village green to have a picnic on.
We spent a day at Framlingham Castle, which is a Norman motte and bailey castle. There are lots of ornamental chimneys around the castle as well as a museum inside. There was also a lovely nature reserve around the castle.
The best view of the castle is from the nature reserve. As well as being able to see the castle, you can also see a wide variety of plants and animals in the nature reserve as well as a lake.
No trip to East Anglia is complete for me without going out on a boat at Blakeney Point to see the seals. It is always my favourite part of the holiday.
We spent the last day at Newmarket Race Course, the home of British racing. We spent the day watching the races and in the evening James played a concert there. It was the best way to end the holiday.
Have you ever been to East Anglia? Do you want to visit? Let me know in the comments.
Happy Blogmas! x
